I used to live in College Park, MD and loved how accessible the whole area is. I was wondering when you were going to feature Portland, Oregon as an excellent walkable area? Another useful tool you might like is www.walkscore.com. They rated our 55 and over housing Co-op as a walkers paradise! They do not operate both ways. If you want to commute TO Columbia FROM DC, you're out of luck.
